Lets just deleate the month of January...

OK friends,
Thanks for the feedback and I'm sorry about nearly a month of no writing, but there was a good reason this time. After New Years we all went to an large SCA (re-enactment club sort-of) event in Dublin where the gang from Belfast were so sick by Sunday morning that they almost could not drive home. By the following Thursday, nearly EVERYONE else had it. Sadly this was no 24 hour bug, but a deep chest infection that required some folks to take two rounds of antibiotics and most were in bed for at least a week, sometimes two. No one felt themselves for at least 3 weeks, some of us four. I went back to the gym for the first time YESTERDAY, I might have made it a bit earlier but husband was on round 2 of antibiotics and did not fee up to driving. The Lizard, had not realized his 10 year driver's license update had come in while he was sick, so he's nine days without wheels while he waits for a new one.

Anyway, this pretty much just deleted the month of January for us, really. It feels very strange, to loose almost a month. True, we were home, but it all just seems like a very long bleary week. The only one happy was my new office cat, Freya (cat formerly known as Freya the Feral) who thought that having mommy parked firmly in an armchair providing her with 16 or 17 hours of lap a day was wonderful. She just got annoyed when the lap started going up and down and would meow unhappily if mommy had a coughing fit, "how rude to make my lap pillow jiggle" she would say. "Now, that's it, just calm back down and keep staring at that silly lit up box you almost never use, that's right you can just fall asleep here if you want mommy, I plan too..." Ah, the life of a former barn cat, as my friend the vet said, "it can be amazing how quickly they adjust to the indoor life..."

So, that's what has been going on here. As we've felt better, we've been frantically trying to make up for lost time. Later I'll write about the search for an affordable waffle maker (seems they are not a big thing this side of the water) and how our company is finally up and running (it is amazing what you can get done, once you feel well enough to work). My getting Irish citizenship (I still have American too, they let you do that these days)and other fun stuff.

But, right now, I want breakfast and a cup of tea. It has been several weeks since I really enjoyed either very much and I'm going to make up for it now. That is if Freya does not convince me to join her in the chair where she is sitting and staring at me, willing me with cat thoughts to "just sit back down and be a lap OK, you know you really want to...."

Disaster Cat....on a bright Sunny Irish Morning

Well, feeling better, I'm afraid that Feb was only slightly better than January in that regard. However, things are improving rapidly, I think the warming weather is helping everyone fight off the nasties. Now we are just having fun getting the business set up! Should be lots of fuel for blogs...
